Tour 2 Great Orme Summit and Marine Drive

Description of Ride

This evening tour takes us around Marine Drive on the magnificent Great Ormes head, a limestone peninsular jutting out into the Irish Sea. Surrounded by ocean on one side and cliffs the other. The landscape is dramatic.

The tour will start on the Promenade in Llandudno and take you along Marine Drive to the Great Orme church and cemetery, then on up a steep climb to the summit of the Great Orme passing Bronze Age Copper Mines and the Tramway. Descending on the same road we continue around Marine Drive which has one way traffic to The Rest and be Thankful. From here we descend back to Llandudno via the old military heritage site known locally as the gun sites taking in wonderful views of Anglesey and the Carneddau mountains.    Then through the town and along the promenade and back to the start past the tram station.
