General
Bike Wales (hereinafter referred to as “we”) is the trading name for a business established in 2026 and registered at:

The business operates as a partnership between Graham Tayler and Louise Jowett, both of the above address.
The main remit of the business is bike and equipment hire, cycle tours, bike services and repair. The business is not registered for VAT purposes.
The trading location is mobile with storage facilities at the rear of Provideros Café, Masonic Street, Llandudno, Conwy LL30.
These Terms and Conditions apply to bikes, trailers, pushchairs, seats, packs, bike racks, safety and repair equipment booked through Bike Wales as set out in the booking confirmation and disclaimer documents.
These Terms and Conditions contain important information and should be read and acknowledged by the primary hirer and all participants using the hired equipment.
Variations in these Terms and Conditions shall only be binding by agreement with Bike Wales.
Bikes and equipment can only be hired with a completed hire agreement, signed disclaimer and acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
The signatory must be over the age of 18 and sign on behalf of any participants under the age of 18.
Mountain, trail and road biking can be dangerous and may result in injury or death. Safety precautions should always be taken.
Bikes and Equipment – Responsibilities of the Hirer
You are responsible for checking bikes and equipment before use and ensuring they are safe during the hire period.
You and participants are responsible for all cycles and equipment hired and must keep them safe from damage, theft or loss.
Bikes and equipment must be used properly and not subjected to misuse or excessive wear.
You must notify Bike Wales immediately of any damage, loss or theft.
You will be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement unless covered by a damage waiver agreement.
Hired bikes and equipment must not be sold, hired to others or disposed of.
You must inform Bike Wales of any mechanical issues or defects noticed during the hire period.
You are responsible for bikes and equipment during transportation unless Bike Wales is responsible for the transport.
Vehicles transporting bikes should use vans, specialist bike racks or trailers.
Bikes left unattended must be locked securely. Locks can be provided upon request.
Bike Wales equipment must not be used in competitive sporting events unless agreed in advance.
Bike Wales Responsibilities
Bike Wales aims to provide high quality and well maintained bikes and equipment.
All bikes are checked on issue and return and maintenance records are kept.
Any defects identified will be repaired before the next hire period.
If repairs cause delays in collection, customers may receive additional hire time or a reduced fee.
Locks can be provided to help prevent theft.
Bike Wales may remove equipment from hire if it is not functioning safely.
Where possible we will replace faulty bikes or equipment. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
Bike Wales can transport bikes by arrangement and will be responsible for them until they are handed over to the hirer.
Bike Wales will not be liable for damage caused by the hirer or third parties not connected with the hire service.
Bike Wales will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses.
Bookings
Bookings can be made in person, by telephone or by email.
A booking enquiry form may be completed during the booking process.
Customers are responsible for checking booking details and notifying Bike Wales of any errors.
Delays caused by weather, illness, injury, navigation or fitness are the responsibility of the hirer.
Bike Wales will process bookings and payments with care and accuracy.
Bike Wales may refuse hire where certain trails or conditions may present excessive risk.
Photo identification may be requested at the time of collection.
Risk, Liability and Insurance
Cycling on roads, trails and off-road routes carries inherent risk.
Participants take part in cycling activities at their own risk.
Bike Wales will not be responsible for injury, death, loss or damage unless caused by proven negligence.
Customers are responsible for any damage or injury caused by misuse of hired equipment.
Customers should ensure they have suitable insurance if required.
Bike Wales holds public liability insurance of up to £5 million.
Except for death or personal injury caused by negligence, Bike Wales liability is limited to the cost of the booking.
Bike Wales is not liable if a booking cannot be fulfilled due to circumstances beyond our control.
Health and Safety
Participants must be physically fit enough to undertake the chosen activity.
Cycle helmets must be worn at all times when riding.
Participants must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Children under 14 are not permitted to use electric bikes.
All riders must listen to safety instructions provided by Bike Wales staff.
Bike Wales provides helmets, repair equipment and locks free of charge.
Brake configurations follow UK standards and will not be changed.
Data Protection and Privacy
Customers must provide necessary personal information for bookings.
Customers may choose whether their information is used for marketing purposes.
Bike Wales complies with GDPR requirements and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
The privacy policy is available on the website and the Data Protection Policy is available upon request.
Bookings, Payments and Hire Periods
Bookings can be made via the website, phone, email or in person.

Typical hire times are:
Summer: 9:30am – 4:30pm
Winter: 10:00am – 4:00pm
Daily or weekly hires operate in 24 hour periods.
Bikes will normally be held for one hour after the agreed collection time.
Late returns may incur additional charges.
Group bookings for ten or more bikes must be confirmed in writing.
Bike Wales reserves the right to adjust pricing at any time.
Payment
Full payment is normally required when making advance bookings.
Payments accepted:
Cash
Debit card
Credit card
Bank transfer
American Express and PayPal are not accepted.
A card pre-authorisation may be taken at the start of the hire period.
Discounts and promotions may be offered at the discretion of Bike Wales.
Cancellation Policy
Customers may cancel bookings by notifying Bike Wales.
Notice periods:
Up to 3 bikes – 48 hours
4 bikes or more – 60 hours
Cancellations with insufficient notice will incur a 75% charge.
Cancellations on the day of hire will incur the full charge.
Bike Wales may cancel bookings if necessary and provide a full refund.
Disclaimer
All riders and responsible adults must sign the disclaimer before hiring bikes.
The disclaimer confirms that:
Cycling carries risk including serious injury or death.
Participants must wear helmets and follow safety instructions.
The hirer is responsible for the bikes during the hire period.
The hirer agrees to cover the cost of repair or replacement of damaged or stolen equipment.
Bike Wales is not liable for injury or loss except where caused by negligence.
Personal Safety and Cycling Code
Ride responsibly and respect other users including walkers, cyclists and vehicles.
Reduce speed at junctions and busy areas.
Do not ride on pedestrian-only footpaths.
Always give way to walkers and protect the environment.
Wear appropriate clothing and a helmet.
Carry water, snacks and a mobile phone.
Be aware that mobile signal may be limited in remote areas.
